Mission/Goals
I will be a responsive representative who will hold city hall accountable for their actions and promote community engagement through transparency and communication.
1
Unhoused Population
I will be responsive to the residents’ concerns with the unhoused population. Work closely with the outreach programs, our police and fire department to build upon the programs that directly address the unhoused individuals struggling with drug-related and mental illness by providing long-term sustainable programs and temporary housing. We need to work closely with our neighboring cities to have equal responsibility. Public safety is crucial to ensure people are safe and services are provided to deal with the community concerns.
2
Education
Work with the school district to support higher education and invest in opportunities for trades/certificate programs (electricians, carpenters, plumbers, masonry etc.) college/career, internships and apprenticeships. Support the military and the work force. We need to invest in the future of our community.
3
Repair Our Streets and Sidewalks
Collaborate with the residence and business owners to address and improve our alleys, fill potholes and pave dilapidated streets and sidewalks. Lift the moratorium for speed bumps for residence safety.
4
Illegal Dumping/Abandon Building
Support and enforce a stronger maintenance code for illegal dumping and abandon buildings. Develop a stronger ordinance to encourage property owners to maintain their properties. Create a more safe, clean, and vibrant POMONA!
5
Beautify/Protect our Green Space and Safety of our Parks
Continue to revitalize our Parks and Recreation Department. Find grant opportunities to improve our sports facilities and playground's. Continue to support the Park and Recreation Department that provide programs for community events. Support a Park Ranger Program.
6
Be the Change Our District Needs
I am committed to promptly addressing emails and phone calls. I will actively continue to participate in community events; build upon neighborhood watch meetings, town hall gatherings, and meetings with our local police/fire department. It is my intent to hold a quarterly meeting with the police/fire department, and city employees to keep you informed with up-to-date current changes that affect the entire city directly.
Address the community concerns with the tax increase (10.25%), the energy company that has failed, the increase in trash and water cost to the residential(20%) and business and landlords (300%).
8
Prioritize Safety in Our City
Prioritize public safety and hold the city accountable to follow what was promised to our community. The Measure PG promised to increase and improve 9-1-1 emergency response times for a safer community for everyone. Work closely with our budget to ensure that our communities safety is priority. Support our Police and Fire Department to ensure they are equipped to protect and service. I will work closely with our police/fire department to tackle community violence and crime. Our community deserves safe neighborhoods for a better quality of life.
9
Affordable Housing
Affordable housing should include commerce by investing in retail shops located on the premises to ensure that our citizens have a place to live, work and shop. We need to encourage the developers to increase incentives for Pomona residents and city employees to have first opportunities to rent or purchase homes.
10
Work With Labor
I support the unions because I believe that all workers deserve livable wage but most importantly, we need to provide good jobs and hire local residents. I support PLA (Project Labor Agreement). We need to ensure that contractors will meet quality housing project guidelines to build safe and durable homes for our residents.
Also my goal is to continue to educate the people of Pomona about alternative energy sources to mitigate the climate change to avoid negative consequences. I support alternative sources and will work diligently to provide services to our residents.
11
Fostering the Arts, Culture and People of Pomona
I am committed to being a strong advocate for the arts and culture in our beloved city. My primary objective is to foster the growth of Pomona's rich artistic and cultural heritage. I am dedicated to supporting and expanding programs that preserve our city's history and ensure that art programs are accessible to everyone. Together, we can celebrate our unique cultural tapestry and create a vibrant future for Pomona.
12
Address Landlord and Tenant Concerns
Government decisions must be fair to all parties. As a member of the council, I will respect and consider all sides in making decisions. We need to evaluate the laws and eviction processes and not add unnecessary cost and regulations. The city needs to do better at educating landlords and tenants about their rights and responsibilities.
.
13
Fairplex Mitigation of Traffic and Noise
I will continue to protect the neighborhoods that are impacted by the Fairplex events.
